Refresh & Restore Guidelines
It is important to have a clear set of guidelines for the safeguarding of both you (Client) and the prayer team. These principles ensure consistency in order that all parties understand the extent of what is being offered/received. Together this ensures individuals are loved, supported and treated with equality.
Defining key terms
Client - The person who is receiving prayer/support from a team member
Team Member - Member of Ivy Refresh and Restore prayer team
Prayer will be provided by a team of two people. We will ensure that there will always be at least one team member of the same gender as the client.
Confidentiality
All conversations will be kept private and will respect the confidentiality between Client and Team Member. In some instances there may be a need to refer a Client to professionals or agencies such as healthcare providers or social care and wherever possible the Client will give permission for information to be divulged.
The exceptions to this rule are:
- Risk of harm to oneself or someone else
- Breach of criminal law
Spiritual Care
Ivy Refresh and Restore is primarily about listening to God, pointing people to Jesus and allowing the Holy Spirit to work. We are a team of vetted volunteers asking Holy Spirit to use us to communicate. Please weigh up any words shared and respect the best intentions of the team.
We reserve the right to cancel the session if necessary.
We ask everyone to leave a 6 month gap between appointments
